Pilates 7:30pm – 8:30pm Tuesdays
A Fareham based Hatha Yoga & Pilates Instructor, Ayurvedic Therapist and practitioner of Kalaripayattu.
I began learning Pilates several years ago during a particularly low period of my life. I was then introduced to Yoga. I found that they helped me enormously both physically and mentally. They became a passion and that’s where my journey began.
A mat based Pilates instructor with several years’ experience concentrating on core strength, flexibility, balance and good posture. Specific experience in sports injury rehabilitation and teaching clients with orthopedic conditions.
After studying several Yoga systems, I now teach Hatha Yoga following traditional Sivananda instruction learnt in Kerala, India. A place I now call my spiritual home.
I have continued to study further focusing on holistic wellbeing and medicine, passing a diploma in Ayurvedic Therapy. When in Kerala I continue to develop my Yoga and learning new Ayurvedic treatments. I offer Ayurvedic consultation and massage therapy to clients.

Hi everyone! My name is Laura and I am really excited to be bringing Pilates classes to LV Yoga Studio. I am looking to offer more classes so please get in contact with preferred times and days as I will be guided by feedback.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a series of exercises that were designed by Joseph Pilates. The aim of the exercises are to develop ‘core’ strength, flexibility and mobility. Pilates can help with back pain by strengthening the ‘core’ muscles, increasing flexibility, increasing mobility, relieving stress and improving posture. Pilates can also improve balance, coordination, tone the body and promote wellbeing.
My teaching style
I like to incorporate humour, metaphors and imagery in my class, as well as focusing on what the body and mind can achieve with a little encouragement. I want you to understand what you are doing and how it may benefit you. I make sure my participants perform exercises as safely as possible whilst promoting the appearance of an elegant and effortless execution! I cater for all abilities, ages and confidence levels.
Who I can train
I am GP exercise referral qualified which means in addition to working with participants who are fit and healthy I can also work with participants who have a range of common medical conditions. I am qualified as a Level 4 Low Back Pain Specialist. I regularly consult with Physiotherapists on the best way forward with their clients experiencing Low Back Pain and am guided by their advice when their clients are referred to me.
